Motorized Roll-Down Shades for Comfort at the Push of a Button

For homeowners who want convenience, comfort, and a premium finish, motorized roll-down screens are one of the best options available.

HD Solar Screens can provide motorized exterior shade systems, including Rainier electric roll-down options, designed to make sun control simple. Instead of manually adjusting your space throughout the day, you can lower your shades when you need protection and raise them when you want the space open.

Motorized Shades Are Perfect For:

  • Large patios
  • Outdoor entertaining areas
  • Luxury homes
  • Seniors or homeowners who want easier operation
  • Commercial spaces
  • Wind and sun control
  • Privacy on demand
  • Homes where manual screens are inconvenient
  • Motorized roll-down shades give you the flexibility to adjust your space when the weather, sun angle, or privacy needs change.

Durable Fabric Options Including TexTIline

The material matters. HD Solar Screens uses professional-grade screen and shade materials designed for exterior use, including durable fabric options such as Texoline.

Texoline-style solar screen fabric is made to handle sun exposure, outdoor conditions, and everyday use while still providing visibility, airflow, and shade. It gives homeowners a strong balance of comfort, durability, and appearance.

Why Fabric Quality Matters

  • Better long-term durability
  • Cleaner finished appearance
  • Stronger performance in outdoor conditions
  • More consistent shade and privacy
  • Better resistance to everyday wear
  • Easier maintenance

When Mark talks about solar screens, he is not just talking about installing fabric. He is talking about selecting the right material, measuring it correctly, and installing it in a way that works for your space.

Rainier Shade’s legacy reaches back to 1896, beginning on the Seattle waterfront as a tent and awning company built to protect people from the elements. From early tents of the early Yukon Gold rush to WWII-era canvas work, Rainier developed a reputation for durable, purpose-built shade and shelter solutions. Today, that same heritage continues through precision-engineered motorized screens, retractable awnings, pergolas, and patio covers—modern shading products backed by more than a century of craftsmanship, innovation, and Northwest resilience.

At High Desert Solar Screens, we believe the right shade system should do more than block the sun — it should make your home more comfortable, more private, more efficient, and more enjoyable every day.

Inspired by the quality-driven approach of premium shading companies like Rainier Shades, High Desert Solar Screens follows one simple philosophy: use better materials, install them the right way, and deliver a finished product that lasts. From exterior solar screens to high-quality automatic roller shades, every project is treated as a long-term investment in comfort, protection, and performance.

High Desert Solar Screens understands that homeowners are not just buying a shade. They are protecting their furniture, lowering heat, improving privacy, reducing glare, and creating outdoor and indoor spaces that feel better to live in. That is why High Desert Solar Screens focuses on premium fabrics, durable components, clean craftsmanship, and custom-fit solutions designed specifically for each home.

Automatic roller shades bring that same philosophy into a modern, convenient experience. With smooth operation, sleek design, and premium materials, they give homeowners effortless control over sunlight, privacy, and comfort with the push of a button.

At the heart of the business is our commitment to doing things correctly. No shortcuts. No cheap materials. No one-size-fits-all approach. Just honest recommendations, dependable products, and high-quality shading solutions built to perform in the harsh sun and changing conditions of the High Desert.

High Desert Solar Screens is where premium materials, practical comfort, and trusted local craftsmanship come together.

Textilene SOlar Screens

Premium Materials. Proven Performance. A Better-Looking Home.

At High Desert Solar Screens, Mark Dade believes a great solar screen should do more than block the sun — it should protect your home, improve comfort, and preserve the look of your windows. That is why every product is built with premium-quality materials selected for long-term performance, durability, and curb appeal.

High Desert Solar Screens proudly uses high-quality Textilene® solar screen fabric, a trusted PVC-coated polyester material known for its strength, stability, and all-weather performance. Textilene® is designed to resist fading, mildew, flame, and shrinkage, making it an ideal choice for homes exposed to intense sun, changing seasons, and everyday outdoor conditions.

We prefer black solar screen fabric because it maintains the natural contrast of the window. Instead of blending into the color of the house and making the home look like it has no windows, black fabric allows the windows to remain visible and defined. This keeps the home’s exterior looking clean, balanced, and architecturally complete.

Black fabric also provides excellent glare reduction and absorbs more solar heat at the screen surface, helping block harsh sunlight before it reaches the glass. The result is a more comfortable home, improved privacy, better window definition, and a finished look that feels intentional rather than covered up.

Quality is not just about the screen itself — it is about doing the job right, using materials that last, and giving homeowners a solution they can trust. High Desert Solar Screens is built on premium products, honest craftsmanship, and real relationships with the people they serve.

I’ve had the screens for 5 years. They’re great. Very durable and I save about 30% on cooling.
